Seward isn’t called Nebraska’s 4th of July City for nothing. This was my second visit since moving here, and knowing what I was in for let me relax and just look. It felt like every other person had incorporated the American flag into an outfit—or worn it entirely. Instead of trying to shoot the whole event, I just focused on the wardrobe. Letting the camera track that sea of stars and stripes turned out to be the most fun way to spend the afternoon.
